Trend Watch: Bi-Color Cabinets

We've been noticing an increase in the use of bi-color cabinets, especially in kitchens. It can create a refreshing and bold look.

According to Apartment Therapy, "Choosing a stronger color for bottom cabinets will anchor the room without overpowering it. Doing so also can be a thoughtful and less intimidating way to incorporate color into this function-driven room. In some instances, the colorful bottom cabinets can make appliances stand out less and look even better, while the blend of light upper cabinets with light wall colors makes for a more visually open space, giving the impression of a larger room with higher ceilings." We couldn't agree more!

What do you think? Would you go for it?

Your stock cabinets are going to be 21 deep for vatiny, 24 deep for kitchen bases and 12 deep for wall cabs. If you are looking specifically for 17 cabinets you will need to special order those in, with whatever upcharge the cabinet company you chose charges. (Generally there is an increased depth cost anywhere from 15% to 75% of the original cabinet cost.) The more custom you get, the more your countertops will cost as well as you may be getting charged for the standard depth plus the additional special sized cost. You can certainly pull the cabinets away from the wall add a toekick and finish it off with a panel, but you would be wasting quite a bit of storage space. If you want 17 deep, price them out. The upcharges you will incur may be the deciding factor, that maybe a standard 24 deep or even a 12 deep wall cabinet at the base will suffice.

Oh I just did this to the big cabinet in our baotrhom. It felt fabulous. I threw away prescription meds from my C-section in 2007!! Now I can reach in and grab what I need without knocking over a gajillion bottles and tubes. Why and how do we accumulate so much crap?Have fun with the rest of the kitchen. It's going to be awesome when you are done.

AndrewPittsburgh, PennsylvaniaWhen I remodeled my kietchn several years ago, I bought a microwave that was considered to be a space saver at the time. Recently, that microwave died and I had to replace it. I needed a microwave that would go where the other one had been. As it turns out, the GE Spacemaker microwave was the only one I could find that would work in the same space. I chose the JEM25 model because I don’t really need a lot of bells and whistles. This one does come with several features that my other one didn’t have like a turntable, which is nice. It’s only 800 watts but I just use it to reheat and warm things so that works great for me. Besides, my old one wasn’t even that powerful. This one has one-touch buttons and an add 30 seconds button. You can turn off the turntable if you have larger dishes to heat. You can choose between a black or white model, and I got the black. So far, I couldn’t be happier with this microwave.

Hello. I see that you don't update your page too often. I know that
writing content is boring and time consuming. But did
you know that there is a tool that allows you to create new articles using existing content (from article directories or other websites from your niche)?
And it does it very well. The new articles are high quality and pass the copyscape test.
Search in google and try: miftolo's tools
