  • One Magnificent Mudroom

Today's inspiration comes from John B. Murray Architect. There are so many things we love about this sunny, open entryway. It's the quintessential modern mud room and sets the scene for what is sure to be an immaculate, well-designed home. Glass doors that let the light pour onto the grey, slate tile floors. Bench seating and built-in cabinetry, with an open shelf for quick store, but easy access. We love the baskets full of sports equipment. The flooring is smart. Tile floors combat muddy boots coming in from the yard before they make it to the rest of the home. The hardwood floors in the kitchen and bright, white open shelving have us itching to see the rest of this home.

Are you considering renovating your home and adding or updating a mudroom? We can help. Stop by our newly expanded showroom at 5253 Hwy 90 W Suite 1A in Mobile, Alabama near Tillman's Corner or call/email us to schedule an appointment. We'd love to discuss the cabinetry, appliance, counter top, hardware (etc., etc.) and design possibilities for your space.

  • Store It With Built-In Cabinets

Today's blog post focuses on identifying and utilizing those unused spaces in your kitchen. We've been inspired by This Old House Magazine and found some creative and beautiful ways to... well, store your stuff, with built-in cabinetry.

An under-the-counter wine rack will keep your bottles within arm's reach. It also keeps the corks moist and is a beautiful way to display your favorite (or most used) vintages.

In new home construction and remodels we're seeing a reemergence of mud room storage. After all, your mudroom should be functional! The set-up (above) utilizes a storage bench with a hinged lid and plenty of space beneath for the tips of your kids' muddy boots. Wall hooks give jackets, bags and hats a home. And the top shelf adds even more storage.

Kitchen cabinets can contain more wasted space than you think. One of our favorite storage solutions is the pantry kit, above. If you're remodeling or building a new kitchen, the pantry kit is a must-have!

If you're building or remodeling your home, considering transforming that wasted space under the stairs into a functional and fabulous focal point. And who couldn't use a few more drawers and cabinets?

What item in your kitchen gets used more frequently than the plate? Plate rack cabinet inserts are a great way to put your plates within arm's reach, while displaying them beautifully. Want to double the functionality? Get some under-cabinet hooks to hang your morning coffee cups!
