On Trend: Pot Filler Faucets

Pot fillers, which have been a staple in commercial and restaurant kitchens for years, decades even, are becoming more prevalent in the home. Whether your pot-filler faucet is deck-mounted (on the countertop like a regular faucet but not centered over a sink) or wall-mounted, it's attractiveness and practicality cannot be beat. Pot fillers have articulated arms that allow you to move them over to your pot when it needs to be filled and then fold them neatly against a wall, so they are tucked neatly out of your way.

We've compiled some of our favorite photos of pot filler faucets in beautiful, practical home kitchens. Take a look.

Should you opt for a pot filler faucet over a traditional faucet? That depends. If you're cooking almost daily or have strength, back, or weight-bearing limitations, the pot filler is a great option for you. It reduces strain on your body from having to lug gallons of water from the sink to the stove. When you consider that a gallon of water weighs more than 8 pounds, and think about how big your stew pot is- that's a lot of weight to lift and tote around! It can also save time. When your meal requires cooking quickly or multi-tasking, a kitchen pot-filler is the answer. It fills the pot right on the stove, saving the space in your sink for vegetables, strainers, clean-up, etc. Another reason our clients opt for the pot filler is strictly aesthetic. They look great and are an impressive addition to a kitchen.

* Coast Design Kitchen & Bath specializes in new home or remodel design and offers a variety of cabinet, counter top, and appliance brands.
