  • Fog and Graphite Kitchen

This Coast Design kitchen was designed and created for custom home builder Marquis Properties by our very talented designer Dwain Arterburn. It's located in the Avalon subdivision in Daphne, Alabama. We used Integrity Cabinets with a Capital door style and a paint finish. The primary cabinet color in the kitchen is Fog and the island color is Graphite. We love the look of the over-sized island. It opens up the floor plan and draws plenty of oohs and ahhs!

The beverage center/wet bar is located in the dining area, adjacent to the kitchen. It's still being installed (hence the missing under counter appliance!), but we can already tell that it's going to be perfect. The contrast of the Integrity Cabinets in Fog against the dark counter top and warm backsplash is part of what sets this design apart.

We love the finish Marquis chose for their master bathroom cabinets and tub surround.

  • Monday Motivation: Newport Beach Dream Kitchen

This Newport Beach kitchen is open and airy, yet chic, modern and practical. It features a unique double island with bench and barstool seating in between. We love that the dining area is a prominent feature, giving this room a comfortable, social vibe. The paneled walls and wooden ceiling beams combine to to bring a rustic aesthetic to this modern beach house.

We love the combination of stainless steel range, double stacked ovens and refrigerator with french doors and freezer drawers with the white, open shelving and base cabinets. The grey granite countertops and farm sink give this room an air of softness and a nice contrast to the chrome faucets and fixtures. The wet bar is featured prominently, with a wooden shelved wine chiller and open shelving to display the barware, crystal and booze. Light hardwood floors and a rustic farmhouse table accent the large pendant lighting and creamy linen slip covers on the chairs. Whoever styled this kitchen got it right!

  • On Trend: The Modern Wet Bar

We are seeing a resurgence of the wet bar in new home construction and remodeling projects. We know what you're thinking, and no... the 80's didn't call. This isn't your parents' wet bar, jutting out from the corner of the living room, sitting atop that orange shag carpet, adorned with white pleather bar stools and glittery plastic stir sticks. Unless you're into that sort of thing.

We're talking about a modern, in-home cocktail-filling and wine-pouring station. Chic under-counter wine reserves, chillers and cellars. Beer dispensers. Clear, cubed, or "Sonic" ice makers. Compact under-counter refrigerators.

Since in-home bars have been on our radar lately, we've assembled a collection of the beauties that are inspiring us this week. Enjoy!

At Coast Design Kitchen & Bath, we offer a wide variety of residential appliances perfect for your at-home bar. We have GE Monogram Stainless Steel Beverage Centers, under-counter bar refrigerators, wine reserves and double-drawer refrigerators. We're proud to offer Scotsman Ice's Brilliance line of "Sonic ice" makers. With their quality line of residential undercounter refrigeration systems, Perlick makes it easy to add refrigeration to any room of the home, including the outdoor home bar. Perlick's Signature Series Beer Dispenser lineup pours cold, fresh brews that are sure to impress your guests. We also recommend the KitchenAid Architect Series wine cellar with its true dual temperature zones that allow you to store red and white wines and different temperatures. Canted racks let the bottles nestle at a slight angle that helps prevent the cork from drying out.

Viking offers a quality line of undercounter refrigerators, drawers and beverage centers as well as their popular ice machines.
